Submitted by on October 20, 2009 No Comment

Many people hail the combination of low carb diet and aerobic exercising as the best combination to lose weight and some even go to the extent as to assuming that when performed together they will help reducing weight quickly. It is tricky to balance the two things as the energy needed for exercise is being provided by carbs, but it is possible to bypass this problem which you will see soon. It means due to reduction in carb intake you will not be able to fully exercise to your potential.

Low Carb and Exercise

Exercise as a Means of Weight Loss

Exercising means burning calories. The harder you work out and with greater the intensity, the more calories you are going to burn in your body. All this energy comes from the carb, which are being burnt when we exercise and in some case of low carb presence in body, the stored fat will be burned. The ideal mixture of these two will ultimately lead you in burning lots of body fat in a fairly short period of time. But there is one drawback to this system: the lack of carb may lead to fatigue in short period of time when you exercise.

Balancing the Low Carb Diet and Exercise

The realization of how important carbs is comes only when you try to exercise hard without ingesting enough of carbs. It is very difficult. Although fat is being burnt in the absence of carb, but it is not very efficient and as a result it may not be possible for you to sustain a longer and harder workout regime. The solution to the problem lies in reducing the intensity of your workout and not working too hard.

Low Carb and Exercise

Calorie Content is Key

The fat gets stored in our body as a remainder when we meet more than we use. Maintaining the same weight involves burning the same amount as you eat. You will start losing lots of weight when you continue exercising and burn more than you eat. It is true whether carb is consumed, fat or protein as this is how the body functions. No matter where the carbs come to your body, they are being utilized by the body in similar manner, so it is not entirely necessary to resort to a low-carb diet.

As it has been mentioned before that lack of carb in body and in diets will lead to depletion of the body’s muscular endurance dramatically and will result in the body being extremely fatigued when working out. As a result you will lose the ability to work out for extended period of time; as a matter of fact you may not even 15 minutes of low intensity exercise. It will be very difficult to lose weight in such a condition and that is why it is not in the best interest to reduce carb intake too much. In layman terms, your body needs the carbs!
